We drove up the coast to Long Beach and had lunch at The Cove Restaurant at the Pennisula Golf Course. Then we went downtown to visit some of the shops and the Friday afternoon Farmers' Market. Unfortunately, there wasn't much at the Farmers' Market.
Jake the Alligator is an alleged half man, half alligator creature. Jake has a following in Northwestern popular culture. They have a birthday party for him early in August in Long Beach.
