Put Offer on Double-wide Mobile Home

We have been house hunting for a winter season here in the Rio Grande Valley. We decided that we wanted to have some place called home when our fifth wheel gave up the ghost. It is getting pretty old now since it is a 2004, however, it really still remains in fairly good shape. Anyway, the hunting has been crazy. We would think we had found something and then for some reason we would change our mind. For instance, we looked at new ones but we couldn't fit them on the lots we liked in a few parks. Then we found one but we didn't like the extra fees attached to the lot in that particular park. We settled on this one in Southern Comfort RV Park in Weslaco, Texas. It is only about 10 miles from where we have been staying for the winters. We would have liked to stay where we were at Winter Ranch in Alamo, however, they didn't have any double-wide sites there. They had a few mobiles but most of the places are park models. When we looked at park models we discovered that our fifth wheel had more storage than most of them.

Anyway, we put the offer in today so we'll see what happens!

Large deck with large shop behind

Side of the house - the awning looks bad

Back of the house and side of the Shop - door goes to patio and then the deck

Shed in the back yard - it needs a new floor

Living Room - the carpet needs to be stretched and the room painted

Would you believe a wood burning fire place! Like to make it electric someday

Dining Room - I had a border similar to this in the 90's in our home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

 In the Kitchen now

We'll have a lot of work to do but we love the layout of the house.

Oak Ridge Boys at Llano Grande

When I heard that the Oak Ridge Boys were coming to the Llano Grande Hynes Event Center, I just had to get tickets. I called Carolyn and asked her if they would like to go and they said yes so I got to the ticket counter on the first day and was practically the first in line. We ended up with seats that were really close to the stage but far away enough that you didn't have to hurt your neck watching them.

Carolyn and Jerry Nieland couldn't believe the seats we got.

Their concert was awesome!

Basilica of Our Lady of Our Lady of San Juan De Valle

Because we stayed out late last night celebrating New Year's Eve, we didn't get up in time to attend church services at First Presbyterian in McAllen this morning. We decided that we didn't want to start the New Year out by skipping church. We decided to attend the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan De Valle. We did the 3 PM service which was an English Mass. The basilica was just beautiful, as usual.

This tree is in the entry way.
