Birding at Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park & Covid Update

Today it was announced at our resort that all park activities were cancelled for the rest of the season due to Covid. We also stopped at Walmart where the shelves were empty and the place was crowded. We managed to get what we needed. We also went to Sam's but the place was soooo crowded we didn't even get in the door and there were no carts available and the parking lot was jammed.

So, birding was the solution for the day. We headed over to Missionn to visit the Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park. It looks to us like it is a good thing that we like to go birding. It will get us out of the house without being around too many people.

It was a beautiful day at Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park.

COVID 19 HAS ARRIVED IN THE VALLEY

Well, the world is struggling with a plaque called Coronavirus. It has begun to affect us in Texas now and has been rapidly spreading throughout the United States.

Here is a link to an article about Covid spreading in Texas:

https://www.texastribune.org/2020/07/31/coronavirus-timeline-texas/

At this point we don't know how it will affect us but we certainly won't be able to join others in lots of activities here at Southern Comfort RV Resort and we'll sure miss seeing everyone.

We also are really sorry that we won't be able to go visit family in Iowa this summer. We only see them once a year and it looks like that will not happen this year.

You may see nothing but birding venues on our posts until this is over. At least there we are outside and can do some walking. Thank goodness there are plenty of places to do that around here.

We pray that this will be over soon!
