Here we are at the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. The closest town is Mosca, Colorado. The nearest town of any size is Alamosa and the population is 9400.
Visitor Center
We parked our SUV (shown above) and took a short hike to Medano Creek along the base of the Dune Field.
Those specks are people climbing the dunes! It just wasn't something I really wanted to do! LOLB
Beautiful country here!
We took a drive on the Medano Pass Primitive Road but we didn't go all the way to the point of no return. Beyond that point, you have to have a four wheel drive vehicle.
We drove along the south edge of the park toward Mosca as far as San Luis Lakes State Wildlife Area. Then we headed back to our trailer.
