Day 4: Stop 6: Kosciusko - Birth Place of Oprah winfrey

Oprah Winfrey and James Meredith, the Civil Rights activist that integrated the University of Mississippi, were both born here. The people of the city take pride in that but absolutely nothing in town or at the Visitor Center mentions it.

These pictures are in the Visitor Center.

Oprah's house was out in the boonies. It took us some time to figure out where it was.

We finally made the right turn and found a sign that sent us to another sign.  We got lost a couple of times but finally found the place.

This is still a barely paved road and it has been years since she lived here as a child. Oprah was born in 1954.
