Our last stop today was the Meriwether Lewis Monument and Gravesite. Meriwether Lewis died about seven miles East of Hohenwald, Tennessee under mysterious circumstances. He was shot to death at Grinder's Stand, a homestead whose owners put up travelers on the Trace.
There were quite a few squirrels running around.

There is also a Pioneer Cemetery at this location and here are a few of the grave markers.
Then it was time to head to the Hohenwald Embassy Inn for the night.
