Drive to Arco, Idaho & Mountain View Campground

We dilly dallied around this morning and finally managed to leave the campground at 11:30 AM.  Lee was soaking wet by the time we left because, of course, it had to rain before he managed to get everything done.

We drove Highway 26 and then got on US 20 at Idaho Falls.  We went through lots of really black clouds and sometimes we had light behind us and dark in front of us and we could see rain pouring down in the distance but we stayed out of it except for about a half an hour.

What a difference a few miles make.

We arrived in Arco to bright sunshine!

We parked at Mountain View Campgound in Arco, Idaho.  The campground is really very nice for being out in the middle of nowhere.  The sites are large and everything is clean and it very quiet!  What more could be ask for a couple days stay.   They have a nice cafe which has free pancake breakfasts during the season, however, it is closed now unfortunately.

Tomorrow we are going to tour Craters of the Moon National Monument which is about 20 miles from here.
