Lorain Light House, Lorain, Ohio

We drove down the rode a bit and found the Lorain Lighthouse which was built in 1917.  It was built after there was a need for a lighthouse that would be farther out in the channel.  You can only access this lighthouse by boat.  The lighthouse was maintained by the Coast Guard from 1938 until 1965 when it was decommissioned.  It is now operated by a volunteer group, the Port of Lorain Foundation.
