The National Canal Museum

After our tour of the lock tender's house, we walked back to the National Canal Museum. This museum is dedicated to telling the story of America’s historic towpath canals and interprets the history and culture of canals and the science and technology of their construction.

One of the activities for kids was a scavenger hunt. They gave you a list of answers to find around the museum so Tommy and Addi decided to give it a try. But Addi got distracted by the hydraulic water flow exhibit - it was a hands on, build your own canal system - and didn't finish the hunt. Tommy finished however and was given a nice copy of a stock certificate from the original Lehigh Canal Company. We framed the certificate for his wall at home.

The kids are checking out a large railroad display in the Museum.
