St. Ignatius Mission Church

We took a drive along the East Side of Flathead Lake today. We stopped to visit the St. Ignatius Mission Church in St. Ignatius, Montana.

This Catholic Mission Church is unique because its walls and ceilings have 58 original paintings by Brother Joseph Carignano on them. The Mission Mountain Range is a beautiful backdrop of scenery behind the Mission Church. The church is located on the Flathead Indian Reservation between between Flathead Lake and Missoula. We toured the church and area around it. Tried to have lunch at a local diner but a bus tour had just arrived so we decided to drive on to Flathead Lake.
