Cousins Picnic

We invited all of our local cousins out to the park to spend the day with us. Unfortunately, Michele and Karen, had to back out at the last minute, but the rest of us had a great time. 

We put BBQ'd ribs in the Lodge Pot for lunch and everyone brought other dishes. Then for dinner we roasted hot dogs and made s'mores over the fire. In between we all played Mexican Train and Linda was the winner. She and Paul were neck and neck at the end. Dan said he won because he had the highest score! Raejean and Pat had some giggling fits during the game so their concentration was probably off. Of course, they'll never admit that! It was a fun day!!

My centerpiece is a flower that Paul made.  He started a company called "Creative Revivals".  He takes what some would consider trash and turns it into treasures.  The leaves on this flower were made from the sides of a old water heater.  The bottle is an old Jim Beam bottle and the dirt inside is crushed glass from other projects.  The flower itself is made from a wine bottle.  Oh, and by the way, the flower is solar powered!  He does good work!  Check out his facebook page:  Cedar Rapids Creative Revivals if you get the chance!
