Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

We drove west on US 50 and then Colorado 392 to the North Rim of the Blak Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

This park had a Visitor Center but it wasn't open and so we were on our own to explore.

This is a picture of the map that shows a LOT OF LAND but  VERY FEW ROADS!

This was one of the few areas where there was a fence to keep us from falling into the ravine that was very far below us!

It is a long ways down!

You can see the water roaring down below us.

This is where we just came from!

Heading out to the edge again at another pull out.

No people around so we did a selfie!

You can hear the river raging below

It was a great day but it was also a   L O N G  drive back to the campground!
