McBride Arboretum

This morning we decided that we'd hit a couple of spots:  The James H. McBride Arboretum and Centennial Park and the Huron Harbor Lighthouse.  Both of them were great places to take and walk and get some exercise while we're out exploring!

The James H. McBridge Arboretum is located behind Firelands College of Bowling Green State University in Huron, Ohio.  It was built in 1984, and is named after the first dean of the University.

The garden covers fifty acres and there are three miles worth of trails.  There is also a lovely butterfly and Hummingbird Garden.  The garden and the William J. Parker Lake is is a stop for migratory birds.

These guys must be fed on a regular basis from the Terrace because we walked over and they all showed up!

Daisies

We don't know what kind of tree this is but it is sure interesting.  It has these little green balls on it (above) and really pretty leaves.  It also grows very large as you can see by the picture below.
