Blue Bonnet & Wild Flower Excursion - Day 1

This morning we headed out to see if what kind of wildflower season they were having. We decided to spend two nights in three different areas. Tonight we arrived in Brenham, Texas and stayed at the Coach Light Inn which had a good rate and some good reviews. When we drove in, I said "We've been here before" and so we had. It was on another bluebonnet excursion many years ago. So, even though we forgot about the place, we are happy we are staying here. They keep the place up really well and the rooms are clean and fresh.

We even arrived here in time to check out a local spot for the town. The guy at the front desk said the best place in town to see wild flowers was by the Home Depot store. So we decided to head over there to see what we could see and then go out for some dinner.

The Front Desk Guy was right. It was worth a short trip over there. Here are a few pictures from that trip.

This would make a beautiful Monet painting!

After we had our fill of the wild flowers, we headed over to Nathan's BBQ. We picked it out on the internet and when we drove up we recognized it. We are consistent, you can see that. We ate at Nathan's the last time we were here. This time though they were out of their ribs. I had the chicken and Lee had the brisket. Both were really good, but their ribs are scrumptous!
