The Maritime Aquarium

Well today was one of those days when you just have to make the best of it.  We had planned on going out out on the Seaport ferry out of South Norwalk for their Sheffield Island Lighthouse Cruise, but when we arrived we found out that they have quit giving the cruises for the season.  What a bummer!  So, since the Seaport Ferry is docked next to The Maritime Aquarium, we decided to visit it instead.

The Meerkats are really fun to watch and just so darn cute!

They stand like sentries using their tail like a kickstand!

                     Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches - YUCK!

Living Coral Reef

Pacific Lionfish

The Touch Tank

These guys are in the Touch Tank but today they are resting!

Leatherback Turtles

The Jellyfish Tank

He has some teeth!!

It's a lot safer on the outside of the tank!

The Alewives

Atlantic Sturgeon

Striped Bass

We hope to enjoy some of these critters when
we visit Maine in the near future!

The Lumpfish

We also watched a movie called "Journey to the South Pacific" on the IMAX screen.  It was really good and such beautiful scenery.

After we toured the Aquarium we had lunch in their cafeteria.  We both had a slice of pizza and it wasn't too bad.  The day didn't go as we planned but we still had a pretty good day!
