McAllen’s Christmas Parade is one of the biggest, brightest and most anticipated event of the holiday season. It is the largest illuminated holiday and helium balloon parade in Texas. It began at McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium then ran south on Bicentennial Boulevard.
The special guests for this parade are: Dallas Cowboy Wide Receiver Michael Gallup as well as 5 time Super Bowl Champion and former All-Star Defensive End Charles Haley.
We always try to go really early because seats close to the front have to be occupied really early in order to keep them. We were there early enough that we watched them move the traffic signals out of the way of the floats and balloons.
This year we took Leroy and Teresa Pruschl with us from Southern Comfort. They were new to the park at that time. We enjoyed getting to know them better.
It is always fun getting out of town after this parade.
