Sandcastle Days at South Padre, Texas

Had a fun day today. We started the day off at Market Days in Harlingen. Then since we found a bunch of plants I wanted, we decided to turn around and take them home. We were afraid they would expire in the hot car. Then we went to a couple of nurseries in the area and over to the Don Wes Flea Market, We had fun and spent a few bucks but all stuff we wanted for the front of the house.

Then we headed to South Padre for the Sandcastle Days. The tides were REALLY high and wild today,. The festival was at Clayton's this year and so we sat and enjoyed a couple of the bands. Had some shrimp while watching everyone play in the waves and finally decided to call it a day. After we left Bandon, we headed out to check out the dunes in the area. We didn't slog through the sand but we did head into the area and walked boardwalks with views of the dunes. The state has some of these dunes allotted to dune buggies, etc. and it would probably be hazardous to your health to walk in the area anyway.

When we left the dunes, we headed over to see some of the marshes in the same area.
