Pella, Iowa Tulip Festival

We decided to drive over to enjoy the Pella Tulip Festival with our daughter, Danica, and our youngest set of grandchildren, Tommy, Addisyn (Addi) and Liam. This is great festival to attend. There is such a rich variety of things to do and see during it especially if the weather cooperates and the tulips are out!

It was cloudy all day but we managed to stay dry until the lighted parade in the evening. Then we huddled under umbrellas half of the time. The tulips were done in a lot of the areas but we still found places where they were just coming out or just finishing up. Our first stop was a tour of the windmill. We were line for it for quite awhile - the town was really crowded today. We send Danica and the kids over to the park and stayed in line at the bakery for 20 minutes or so but the Dutch letters were worth it!

Addi is going to be a great Mother some day. She is so good with Liam.

Beautiful tulips and a cute little one. Precious times!

It was a very long day for the children, but it was an absolutely great day. If ever you are in the area during the Pella Tulip Festival, it is not one to miss! And, don't forget to stop at one of the wonderful bakeries and get some Dutch pastries. They are to die for!
