Edinburg Birding Center

After we left the National Butterfly Museum in Mission, we headed to Quinta Mazatalan to do some birding as Al and Miriam hadn't been there before. I guess it is on next year's agenda as they were closed today!

Since we couldn't get into Quinta Mazatlan, we headed over to the Edinburg Birding Center. We actually got a picture of a bird we haven't seen - the Common Yellowthroat warbler. I guess he isn't that common as we've never seen him before.

On the way out of the center there is a walkway that is lined with Prickly Pear Cactus and they are just full of buds waiting to open. We are going to have to go back next week and get more pictures!

We walked across the street and walked down to another viewing platform.  There were a bunch of nesting ducks there.

After we were finished birding, we went over to Rudy's for BBQ. Lee and I shared a BBQ'd turkey sandwich and beef brisket sandwich. We each ate half. We both like their sandwiches better than their ribs. I had to use practically all my extra points for the week on the bun, but it tasted really good.

Al and Miriam will be leaving this week so I'm glad we managed to get together today. We had a great time.
