Our second stop of the day was the Whitefish Point Light Station. It is the oldest operating lighthouse on Lake Superior and has been in continuous service since 1861. We walked around the station and the grounds and even wandered down on the beach. It reminded us of the beaches in Washington because of all of the huge pieces of driftwood - sometimes full trees.
