Carriage Ride Through Mackinac Island State Park

After we toured the Butterfly Conservatory, we got on a much larger horse drawn carriage that would take us to the Mackinac Island State Park.  There is a lot of old growth forest in the park as well as a cemetery that is still in operation today.

Then we got to the premier place in the park - Arch Rock.  What a lovely spot.  The rock itself is pretty nifty but the water of Lake Huron is so blue and clear that you can see the rocks and sand in the water.

More Woods
On the way out of the park, we drove through a lot of wooded area and then when we got back to town, we passed the new spiffy red barn for the horses that are used by the Grand Hotel.  Those will be some lucky horses!  It should be ready shortly.
