Hill Country Scenes In and Around Llano, Texas

Badu Campground in Llano, Texas
We left Winter Ranch on Wednesday, April 4th, but we didn't get too far.  We ended up heading to Mission to visit Camping World where we spent four hours because our trailer brakes didn't work.  Finally, they were able to get them fixed so we decided to keep on going.  We ended up spending the night at a Walmart in Pleasenton, Texas near San Antonio.  We left after breakfast and drove to Llano which was supposed to be our first stop.  We are spending time here because we are in search of wild flowers, especially blue bonnets.

We parked in Badu Park's Campground.  It is a City Park and just beautiful and they have full hookups for $15 a night and they are nice water views.  You can't beat that.

We were parked right by this group of rocks and plantings which were very pretty. When we sat down to eat, it was fun watching the lizards sunning themselves on the rocks. It looked like the one was doing pushups. I had to look it up on the internet and found that doing the pushups was the way a male lizard tries to attract the females. Makes sense, I guess! The butterflies were also drawn to the plantings and so we got to see a lot of them also.

After we got set up, we took off and drove several area roads in search of wildflowers.  Here are some of the pictures that we took.  It was a good day!
