Burnet, Texas - Hamilton Creek Park

Anyone know what kind of duck it is on the top -
the guy with the tuft on his head?

We stopped in Burnet, Texas and visited Hamilton Creek Park. Burnet is a very small town but they've done a nice job of revitalizing the area along the creek that runs behind their main street. It was a chance to get out and do a little walking and it felt good.

They had a bunch of ducks on the creek and I wish I knew what kind they were. It was apparent that there has been some cross-breeding going on because there was a duck that looked partially like a mallard but like the genes got all mixed up! There was a pair there though that had a tuft or bubble or something on the back of their heads and they looked pretty unique. I'd like to know what they are. The male must be non-discriminating because there were a bunch of regular ducks running around with tufts on the back of their heads and they looked mighty strange!
