We started the day off to get stamps for postcards but it was Sunday so it was a "no go".
We started at the Trace at Cherokee at US 72. We stopped at the Visitor Center at MP 266 and Lee took quite a few pictures but his camera setting was on something weird and nothing turned out.
The we headed toward Tupulo to see the birth place of Elvis Presley..
We found the Mississippi State Line at MP 308.9 so that is good news!
This is Bear Creek Mound. It is a square and flat-topped mound was built in several stages for ceremonial uses sometime between 1100 and 1300 A.D., during the Mississippian period.
