Antelope Island, with an area of 42 square miles, is the largest of ten islands located within the Great Salt Lake in Utah. The island lies in the southeastern portion of the lake, near Salt Lake City and Davis County, and becomes a peninsula when the lake is at extremely low levels.

Antelope Island is home to free-ranging bison, mule deer, bighorn sheep, pronghorn (antelope), and many other desert animals. Millions of birds congregate along the shores surrounding the island, offering wonderful opportunities for birding. One of the things I like best in Utah is the sky. It must be because of the wind and the mountains but sometimes it is breathtaking!
