Riverside Club in Mission, Texas

We drove over to McAllen shopping for a bed and bought a Sleep Number bed to be delivered next week. We had a Sleep Number bed many years ago and loved it. So, we'll be happy to see it when it arrives.

To celebrate our new purchase, we drove over to Mission to get the scrumptious tenderloins that the Riverside Club serves. It was sure a different atmosphere after the season is over. There wasn't anyone in the restaurant but us, however, we didn't get there until about 3 PM. 

They have made a lot of improvements and so I took a few pictures of those. It used to be that you came here either for the tenderloins or the boat trip and tour on the Rio Grande River. Now there is also a huge ballroom that is busy all season.

Day 7: Stop 3: Mo's Bar & Grill

 

We stopped at Mo's Bar and Grill for lunch. We both had the ribs. If you ever get a chance to try out Mo's we can definitely recommend them. YUM!

Day 7: Stop 3: Cotton Alley Cafe

We had a wonderful lunch at The Cotton Alley Cafe in downtown Natchez. We both had the chicken salad plate. It was delicious. The staff was very friendly and even came outside with us to take our picture outside.

Day 5: Stop 4: Rusty's Riverfront Grill

We stopped for a late lunch at Rusty's Riverfront Bar & Grill in Vicksburg. It was a quaint little place and the food smelled wonderful when we waked in. We both decided on crab cakes and the waitress, thank goodness, told us it was a huge meal. I order the half and had plenty. Lee ate all of his but you can tell by looking at it that it was a few calories!

Day 2: Stop 6: Rattlesnake Saloon, 1292 Mt Mills Rd, Tuscumbia, AL

Well, we had to visit this saloon, The Rattlesnake Saloon and Restaurant which is located inside a cave. 

I can't believe that some people walk down to the saloon and restaurant when these trucks can come barreling down at any second!

We took the ride down to the cave which was on the back of a pickup. It was, to say the least, like a ride at the fair and a little hair raising! The driver, of course, does this dozens of times a day and he  thought he had to zoom down this narrow road at warp speed. 

After our nerves settled. We took a look around. The cave was actually two levels and the restaurant was in the bottom level where we were dropped off. It was really something. The food they served was real good too!

There was also a wonderful gift shop on the top level where we started. They have a person who does his own carving and his stuff was just unbelievable! We would love to have a piece of his but we didn't want to pay for it and we wouldn't have anywhere to put it. Such a problem!

Dinner at Bubba Gump's

 

Our last evening in Galvaston, we headed over to Bubba Gumps at the Pleasure Pier for dinner. It was a fun atmosphere and a great meal.

After we left Bubba Gump's so stuffed that we could hardly walk, we went over to Murdock's which is a great souvenir shop for the area. They had about anything you could want. We picked up some stuff for the grandkids and great grandkids there.

We felt a little too full to climb those steps but we made it. 

Well, our time in Galvaston was great fun and very interesting. I'd love to take a cruise out of here one of these years!  Now we are off to Iowa to visit family and friends.
