After walking all morning, it was nice to stop for lunch at the Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn. When we walked in though, we were in a very long line of people waiting for lunch. However, it didn't seem to take too long before we were called. As people came in they were escorted to various waiting areas in the building and then you ate in the large dining area near your waiting room.
This was our dining room
Lee looking over the menu - of course, it is almost all Bavarian which is what we wanted. I really loved the decor in the restaurant and the costumes of our waiter and the staff.
We both decided on the Bavarian chicken. It is said that the chicken put Frankenmuth on the map! It was lightly breaded and flavored with their own
blend of seasoning. Then it was quickly fried for full flavor, We were first served their seasoned chicken noodle soup. Then we were served our meal. It was served with fresh Michigan
mashed potatoes, gravy and baked dressing. We can highly recommend it. It was delicious.
Then, of course, even though we took food home with us, we decided to try the Apple Streudel which was also excellent. We didn't take any of it home!
