We had fun visiting with our friend, Mary Hazlett, today and then staying in her camper for a couple of nights. We first met Mary and Micky at a Camping Group get together and we became good friends quickly thereafter. Mickey is not with us anymore but Mary still has a place at Winter Ranch so we see her in Texas in the Winter and in Iowa in the summer. We aren't getting together as much any more since we moved to Southern Comfort because both parks are busy in the winter. She's talking about moving to Texas and selling her house in which case we'll see more of her especially in the summer.
Later on today, we went to visit Esther Christensen. She and her husband, Charlie, went to our church in Cedar Rapids and we regularly went out to eat after church with them and others. She moved into Methwick Manor a couple years ago but, the truth be told, when Charlie passed away, she just didn't have any zip anymore. She didn't have too much to say and we could tell just by the way she was acting that if she could pass away, she would sooner than later. She passed away in April 2021. She was 84 years old. I'm sure both she and Charlie are singing in the choir in Heaven together. A link to Esther's obituary is below:
