Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area

After we left Shore Acres we stopped at the Dairy Queen in Coos Bay for some lunch.  Then we headed over to the Dean Creek Elk Viewing area near Reedsport, Oregon.  There were a lot of elk wandering around .  These Roosevelt Elk are native to Oregon's coastal mountains.  The elk here is the largest of four North American elk species.  The males weigh more than 1000 pounds and have antlers over four feet long.
