Tonight we went to the Basilica San Juan Mariachi Concert.  Three groups were being showcased:

Mariachi Nueva Era - Valley View High School, Hidalgo

•  Mariachi Juvinil de America, Veterans Middle School, Rio Grand City

Mariachi Universitario, the group that plays at the Basilica each week.

 All the groups did a great job.  

Although we loved them all, the Mariachi Juvenil de America was just tremendous.  They stole the show.  We found out after they played that they have been chosen to showcase their talents on January 15th when they have been invited to audition for "America's Got Talent" in Austin.  I hope they make it.  We just couldn't believe how these middle school kids had such great talent both instrumentally and vocally!
