Area near the Cathedral

Across the street from the Basilica Cathedral is the Palace of the Governors. It dates back to 1610 and is the oldest public building in continuous use constructed by European settlers in the continental United States.

Cathedral Park

The park is located on E. Palace Avenue and Cathedral Place which is  next to St. Francis Basilica Cathedral, The park is a 62 acre shade-filled relaxing oasis.

Vendors of all types sell their wares outside this building. We purchased some jewelry here the last time we were here.

As we were heading back home, it started to get dark and we got this gorgeous picture of the sky and landscape.

We drove into Taos after we got parked at the Golden Eagle RV Resort in Eagle Nest.

The next stop on the Enchanted Circle was the Rio Grande Gorge State Park. The bridge is a steel deck arch bridge acorss the Rio Grande Gorge which is 10 miles north of New Mexico. It is roughly 600' above the Rio Grande River. The bridge is 1273' long and it was opened to traffic in 1965. It was given a 2.4 million dollar facelift which was completed in September, 2012.
