Inks Lake State Park

Our next stop was Inks Lake State Park.  Inks Lake State Park is  located in Burnet County, Texas next to Inks Lake on the Colorado River.

The following pictures were taken from the campground at the park.

Canadian Goose

Then we left the campground area and headed over to the park.

There are still Blue Bonnets around. They are so pretty!

This looks like some sort of weird cactus.

It always fascinates me how cactus can grown so easily right along the lake shore in Texas.

We decided to take this trail along the lake.

Here we are heading toward a garden area walk that was very pretty.

After the garden walk, we headed over to the concession area as we needed some sustenance and something to drink!

It's a beautiful park but I'm not sure I would want to rent a cabin. This is one of them. They all look the same. The cabins were in the concession area.

Then we were off to some other areas of the park where some birds that are seen only in this area are. Unfortunately, we didn't see any of them.

We didn't see the birds we were looking for but we did see this guy. This is a black vulture.

Mourning Dove

We then wandered into an area where birds and animals were fed and so we saw a few more critters here. We had fun watching a small possum who ate and ate all the peanut butter he could find in the area. He ate it all by himself and then walked away.

We left the enclosure and then drove around some more of the park.

We could see Falkenstein Castle off in the distance.
