Historic Old Michigan Lighthouse Museum

The kids really wanted to see a lighthouse and climb the stairs to the top. Unfortunately, there weren't any of the tall one available but we did find this one that wasn't too far away.

The Old Michigan City Light is a decommissioned lighthouse located in the harbor of Michigan City, Indiana. Built in 1858 at a cost of $8,000, this lighthouse, replaced an 1837 brick & stone light built at the edge of Lake Michigan.

We learned about a ship disaster that killed more people than the Titanic and the Lusitania put together. It was the Eastland. Here is information about the ship wreck:  https://www.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/6776627401546467195/4340028501586817601

They loved climbing the stairs to the light.
