We headed for South Padre Island today. It is the first beautiful day that we've had in a very long time. We've been coming down to the Rio Grand Valley for several years now and we've never experienced a colder or wetter season. It was really nice to see blue skies today and the temperatures got into the 80's today!
Our first stop on the island was Dirty Al's for lunch. He has done some improvements to the outside of the establishment but the inside still looks pretty much like a dive. The shrimp is good though.

We went out on the deck and this brown pelican was sunning himself. Another was sleeping on another pole. Gotta love them!
