Tonight Jim Drake drove a full bus of Winter Ranchers and Trophy Garden residents to Hidalgo for the Festival of Lights. It was in the 60's today so a bit cold as far as we Winter Texans are concerned, however, we were dressed for the weather and it wasn't that bad as there was no wind or rain.
Our first stop once we got off the bus was dinner at the City Hall. We had roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, a roll and either hot coffee, sweetened iced tea or water. That was followed by an individually wrapped pecan pie. The meal was delivered to us in a styrofoam container that kept the food warm which was good tonight. The food was good, as usual, and the service was excellent.

After we finished eating most of us got in line for the tram ride which took us around the city of Hidalgo to see all the lights.

Some of us wandered over to Ramon Ayala's home and watched the synchronized light show. Wow, it is wonderful. It is worth a trip over to Hidalgo just to see it.

No matter how often we see the Hidalgo Festival of Lights, we are always in awe. What a great Christmas tradition.
