Today we were expecting a lot of rain but we barely had sprinkles on and off during the day. We spent the day wandering through shops in some of the quaint towns in the area. Then we had lunch at The Cascades Restaurant, Deli and Expresso Bar in Hudson, NY. I found an article in the local paper that talked about The Best Of places in the area. These places are voted on once a year by local residents and so we thought we should try them out.
The Cascades has a good bakery section and their Chef knows what he/she is doing. Everything is REALLY tasty. I started out with a Beef and Barley soup and had a half of a Vegetarian Sandwich with fresh Mozzarella Cheese. It was very tasty and the soup was wonderful also. Lee had the special for the day which was a Beef, Caramelized Onions, Mozzerella Cheese and a Horseradish Aioli. It was excellent also!
