We've Been Missing Traveling - Today we Purchased A Grand Design Imagine 17MKE

Today we went over to Ron Hoover Marine and RV in Donna, Texas to check out what they had on their lot. We've been looking around for awhile. I (Mary) have been looking at trailer layouts on the internet for months. I knew what I wanted but everything I read said that we would probably never find one because they fly out of the lots.

I didn't tell the salesman what I wanted but we went out and looked at several and then I saw the one I wanted sitting on the lot. I asked if it was sold and the guy said "No, it just came in yesterday/" 

We went in and looked at it and decided to buy it. That took hours. The paperwork is staggering. You might as well buy a house.

The problem with buying it is that we sold our Fifth Wheel and Freightliner a few weeks ago. We don't have anything to haul it home with! So, they agreed to keep it on the lot until we picked it up.

We love the awning. You push a button to get it out and it has a set of LED light strips on it. Looks really neat!

This small rig has a bigger kitchen and bathroom than our Doubletree 36' Fifth Wheel!

It has this couch as you enter the door, but it also has another couch with two recliners across from the  33" Roku TV.

It seems to have a ton of storage but it will be interesting to see if we can get everything we will want to take in it!

Purchase New Travel Trailer

Well, our wanderlust hasn't expired. We still want to do some traveling. Plus, it has been almost two years since we have seen family because of the rampaging Covid.  

We have been looking at various travel trailers online for quite awhile but we hadn't decided on anything. Well, there is one travel trailer that I, Mary, liked but they are impossible to find as they are very popular.

Anyway, today we went over to Ron Hoover RV & Marine to look at some RV's. We actually were looking at some used trailers when I (Mary) spotted what I believed to be my travel trailer, a 17 MKE Imagine XLS by Grand Design, and it was. It was put on the lot yesterday and we signed the papers for it today.

Now we have one small problem. We don't have anything to haul it with. sooooo, we talked Ron Hoovers into letting us keep the trailer there until we find something to haul it with.

Celebrating the 4th of July at Southern Comfort

 We are finally getting back to normal at Southern Comfort after dealing with Covid 19 restrictions for over a year. We had a Happy Hour celebration with Diego & Edith. There was food, dancing and conversation. It felt pretty special since we haven't been together in the Hall for a    L O N G    time now.

Fireworks Celebrating 4th of July at McAllen Municipal Park

 

We decided to check out the fireworks in McAllen this year. There are also fireworks at South Padre but we've seen those before so it is time to try another one.

McAllen had their celebration in the McAllen Municipal Park. They had a band that played at their pavilion until the fireworks and there were several food trucks to get food and drinks.

There were families and kids everywhere and they were playing lots of games with their families. It was nice to see. The kids didn't have too many sparker type things until some women showed up with a cart full of battery operated toys and then the park was lit up all over. 

We both took pictures which is never a good idea with us because I had sooooo many to go through to pick out the best ones.

Tomorrow we have a dinner/dance in the Hall. It is almost getting like Covid never existed but with the new strains out, you never know. We have to enjoy while we can!
