South Jetty and Port Areas - Bandon, Oregon

After we left the Labyrinth area, we went over to the Bandon Bakery Co, and Cafe and had a couple of their cinnamon rolls. Yummy.

Then we drove over to the South Jetty and took pictures of the Coquille River Lighthouse and the South Jetty Light that replaced it which isn't early as aestheticallty pleasing but probably more practical.

Then we drove back into Bandon and walked around the Port boardway and visited a couple of the shops. 

From there we drove back to Face Rock State Park to see where the tide was on the labyrint and by then it had been half erased by the surf.

 

Labyrinth in the Sand, Brandon, Oregon

On September 3rd, we got our butts out of bed at 5:30 AM - can't remember the last time we did this. Even when we worked we didn't gt up until 6 AM!

We headed over to Face Rock Wayside to watch Denny Dyke draw a labyrinth in the sand while the tide was out, Denny has a ministry called Circles in the Sand. He and a group of sweepers come in and make the labyrinth. Then everyone is invited to walk it, 

We stayed above the beach on an overlook while they were making the labyrinth and took pictures as it took shape, 

We also enjoyed watching the sun hit the rocks and it was even more enjoyable to feel the heat of the sun, The temperature was in the upper 50's when we arrived and it was breezy!

When they were done with the labyrinth, we walked down the steps to the beach and did the walk, Denny stood at the entrance to the walk and handed out small polished rocks as a keepsake from the experience. 

It was a surreal experience!
